As the festive season approaches, we are reminded of the true spirit of Christmas – a time for giving, sharing, and spreading joy. For many, this season is filled with family gatherings, delicious meals, and the excitement of opening gifts. However, for countless orphans, vulnerable children, and communities in Uganda, Christmas is often a time of hardship and struggle.

With your help, over the past few Christmases, we have been able to transform lives in Uganda. We have provided food, shelter, education, and healthcare to those who need it most, bringing hope and joy to countless individuals, families and communities.

But there is still more we can do.

This year, we are aiming to reach even more vulnerable children, families and communities in Uganda, providing them with the essential support they need to thrive. With your generous donations, we can:

• Provide nutritious meals to 46 families – 169 children and 98 adults

• Provide nutritious meals at the Children’s Home for the season’s celebrations

• Provide a Christmas Party for 50 children, 14 staff and 6 parents/ carers, including entertainment and food

• Provide reusable sanitary pads, underwear, training and support for 400 girls, keeping them in school and keeping them safe

Together, we can bring hope and change to the lives of countless children, families and communities in Uganda. Please join us this Christmas as we unwrap a season of hope and joy for many.

Every donation will make a world of difference

Now that our Christmas Appeal is live, over the next few weeks we want to tell you a bit about each area we are raising funds for, and the impact that this can make.

In this newsletter, we will focus on...

Provide a Christmas Party for 50 children, 14 staff and 6 parents/ carers, including entertainment and food

Provide a Christmas Party for the children at the Home, and some children we support in the local community. It is a great time of celebration and fun for the children, and a time to make memories which can last a lifetime.

We are hoping to raise £1,050 to cover the costs of the party, that’s £15 per person for 50 children, 14 staff and 6 parents/helpers. This includes transport, activities, meals and snacks.

Here’s what Atlanta Serwadda, Country Director had to say about a previous Christmas Party…

“It was a day full of fun, laughter and we made memories for the children that will last with them forever”

"Our Christmas party was a huge success. We had 55 children including some of the children in the community that we serve and 11 staff members. The festivities began at 11am with children playing on swings, slides and exploring the recreation centre. Around 12:30 the children under the supervision of staff went swimming and they had a blast; each age group was in the appropriate pool with lifeguards on site.

After swimming the children had a face painting session and snacks and continued enjoying the activities around the centre.  Lunch time was the highlight of the day; the children were treated to a delicious buffet and ice cream as dessert and were entertained by an incredible band which played the children’s favourite Christmas songs - the band also gave the children an opportunity to sing their favourite songs. The children were also joined by the staff who also sung alongside the band to entertain the children, it was wonderful!

Our final activity was the train ride around the recreation centre which the children and some of the staff members enjoyed, after which we boarded our coach and headed back home. It was a day full of fun, laughter and we made memories for the children that will last with them forever."
