Uganda Fire Service Training is Under Way

 

A joint mission to the Uganda Fire Service between Firefighters for Christ (FFC) and Ty Cariad Africa is under way. Paddy & Wendy Quinn representing FFC and Paul Thomas and Joyce Hopkinson representing Ty Cariad Africa.

Paul and Joyce taught the Firefighters Basic First Aid which included CPR and the recovery position.

 
 

Wendy and Paddy taught the Rescue Straps and the Water Rescue Throw Line.

 
 

This Firefighter explained to Paddy how his team using breathing apparatus and the Rescue Straps (he had received the Rescue Strap training on a previous FFC training programme), rescued a child from a pit latrine yesterday morning. The child had fallen in by accident.

Sergeant Jessica who had received FFC Rescue Strap training in 2015, testified that her team have rescued many people using the Rescue Straps since the training.
